Let’s being this part of the Daily Time Management Tips series with a brief plan for the day. Today, I will discuss about importance of planning, and when to do what kind of work etc. After reading this, you will also know how to handle emergencies, and I will tell you why not to eat.
Plan your day in advance and avoid those “Oh F@#$!” moments. A detailed plan saves you from the misery of forgetting important deadline that lasted just 5 minutes back. Plan your day and put a tentative time stamp against it. If there is something that needs your immediate attention, mention it there, or mark the entry with red pen.
Well, I am not announcing any sale here. All I am saying here is to have round 20% free time everyday for you. This will help you do your own work, and if something urgent comes, you can use this time to do that work.
Do not worry I am not suddenly smitten by “positive thinking” bug. The heading meant to attract your attention towards a very important thing and that is this: Do your big, bulky works early in the day. Once this monster is done with, you will have the entire day to yourself, which you can distribute judiciously between several smaller works.
This is important. If you develop this habit of doing the thing right in the first go only then you will save yourself the agony and horror of corrections. Admit it, we all hate it. On the face of it, doing it right in just one go may look slightly time taking, but believe me it is not. Test it yourself.
Eat less in the day, and avoid heavy lunches. A heavy lunch makes you sleepy. Start eating less than what you usually do.
