01 Oct 09 Daily Time Management Tips – 3

Let’s begin this part of Daily Time Management Tips series by admitting that no one here is perfect, and everyone misses deadlines, therefore, you do not need to be too tough on yourself. In this episode of the series I will talk about this only, but in bit of a detail.

Do not try to be a perfectionist

Striving for perfection is one of the biggest time killing devices. Accept it buddy, no one is perfect here and good-enough is really good enough. This is all anyone wants. Good-enough is exciting, and perfection is boring, very boring.

Do not feel guilty

You missed your deadline. It indeed is your fault, and you should try not to miss any deadline from now onward. But why do you feel guilty? Everyone misses deadline! We all are human and we are prone to errors, just make sure this error is not repeated soon. Even if it does, do not worry about it. Worrying about past deadline will make you miss the future one.

No works on weakened

Yes, this is one of those rare time saving tips series that actually tells you not to think about work. Enjoy your weekend, and no matter how important work is, do not worry about it on weekend. You will ruin not only the weekend by this but also the following weekdays.

Work first and play later

Do not push off your work for the party your friends are throwing; rather push off the party for the work. The work should come first on the weekdays, and you should reward yourself with a party when the work finishes.
