Procrastination will kill a career very quickly, if you don’t curb the behavior. Whether you own a personal business, or are a career minded employee at a big corporation, procrastination is the enemy. Through procrastinating you fail to get tasks done. Or worse, you rush to get tasks done at the last minute, not reflecting your best work. Either is bad, and could cause your business to fail, or for you to lose your job.
Make a goal, and write it down. Then post that goal around your workspace, so that you literally never lose sight of that. If you feel like procrastinating, take a look at the goal, and think about how your current path doesn’t lead to that end. That should be a good start to learning how to curb your behavior.
Next you need to prioritize your tasks to get them done. This way you make a concise list of what you have to do, preparing yourself for the upcoming work. With a clear list of what you have to do, you’re better served to start working. Go through that list, starting with the first item, and get those projects done in order. Don’t make the list and then think, now I’m set to start working tomorrow. That’s the definition of procrastination. No better time than the present, so start now!
Stay focused and cross off each item on your list as you complete them. Feed off the positive energy of doing your job, and doing it well. Let that carry you into getting more work done, at the top level, in orderly fashion. The more you keep plugging away the better. Before too long if you stay true to yourself, you’ll start seeing the positive effects of fending off your procrastination. Getting your job done, having more guiltless free time, running a business successfully. Once you achieve all of those through your list of objectives, you’ll never want to procrastinate again.

Tiredness is a battle that a lot of us face, whether at work or in your personal life, and it can have some very negative effects. Being tired essentially ruins your ability to stay motivated, or to think up new ideas or concepts, or even to be creative enough to keep positive energy going in every aspect of your life. But there most definitely are many things you can do to combat that tiredness before you really see a negative consequence.
Consider removing the typical wake up drugs that people turn to when feeling tired. Sugar and caffeine is exactly what I’m talking about. Both are horrible to use when you feel tired, as it provides for unnatural energy that your body will use up in a short amount of time, giving you a short energy boost, and then leaving you feeling more deflated than before. By getting your body dependant on these actually makes you feel more tired than you normally would, when they aren’t present in your system.
Instead focus on something more natural for your body. Like aerobic exercise. Something good and intense, like jogging or bike riding. Both improve your physical condition, strengthening your body so that your muscles and metabolism both work more effectively. That will increase the amount of energy you can put out, fighting off that tired feeling, and helping you function much more effectively.
Sleep is another vitally important element of being healthy and not feeling tired. Not getting your 8 hours every night has very negative effects on your body. Your ability to concentrate will be severely compromised, and your body will not feel fully recharged, leaving your muscles tense with a feeling like they’re just out of gas. You have to get your sleep so that your body can fully recharge itself, letting yourself rest so that you can wake up anew, strong and read to take on the day.
