Eyes are the windows through which we see the world, so it is our duty to take care of our eyes. Many people neglect their eyes until it is too late. Through this article, I will share some tips to keep your eyes healthy.

  1. Wash your Eyes two to three times a day with cold running water. You will feel refreshed.
  2. Eat fruits and vegetables that contain beta carotene like, Carrots, Drumstick, Mangoes, Papaya, and Spinach.
  3. Do not unnecessarily strain your eyes. Give it plenty of rest.
  4. Drink water. Lots of water, at least 12 glasses of water to avoid puffiness in the eyes. Drinking water will flush toxic out.
  5. Do not rub your eyes; instead, blink your eyes when you feel like rubbing. Blinking is a good exercise for eyes.
  6. Milk is a natural cleanser and using it to clean one’s eyes is safe. Use Milk to clean your eyes. Dip cotton balls in milk and clean your eyes.
  7. Put two drops of rose water in your eyes to rejuvenate it.
  8. Slice a cucumber or potato and put it on both eyes for at least 10 minutes, and then wash it with cold running water. This will help you avoid wrinkles and dark circles around your eyes.
  9. When going out in sun, always wear UV protected sunglasses. It will keep your eyes safe from the harmful sun radiation.
  10. Exercise regularly. This will boost your metabolism and your body will send enough oxygen to your eyes to keep it healthy.

Bonus Tips

  1. Apply a mixture of oil and glycerin to your eye brows and eye lashes to keep them dark and dense.
  2. Take gooseberry and soak it in water overnight, and use the water next day to wash your eyes.
  3. Massage your scalp using curd to cure itchy eyes.

Technology has changed everything: the way we talk, the way we walk, the way we listen, and the way we see, and many changes has bad effect on us. I am not a pessimist, so I will not go on fault finding spree in the technology we use in our daily life. I know how wonderful it is, but still, technology is always susceptible to misuse and overuse. If the use of technology can improve the quality of our life then the misuse of it can have detrimental effect on the quality of our life. Our eyes, fingers, backbone, back, ears, and neck are more susceptible to damage, but the body part that is more prone to illness is our eyes. Eyes are the most vulnerable part of our body, and the sad thing is, for the most part of the day, they are exposed to screen radiations from our laptop, television, portable video player, or cell phone. To maintain a good vision, we need to get alarmed at the sight of any of the following warning signs:

Burning eye: Doctors say splashing cold water on eyes with burning sensation is only a short-term solution for the problem that could have a very bad effect in the long run.

Dryness: Dry eyes are the first warning sign send by your eyes. Do not overlook this symptom. Use lubricating drop to fight off this problem.

Watery eyes: No, this is not the tear you are shedding for your mom or your girlfriend. It is a side effect of spending too much time in front of your PC. Watery eyes are the witness of the stress your eyes are bearing.

Double vision or blurring: if you leave the stressed eyes untreated for long, you will end up seeing two people where there is just one, and in some cases the vision also get blurred.

Redness or irritation: so, you worked day and night to finish that project, and you even do not bother to take a break. The irritation you are feeling in your eyes are the direct result of those break-less hours. Even the redness is because of that.

Headaches: If you are getting frequent headaches accompanied by severe eye pain, it could be computer eye syndrome. Get it treated.

Prickly eyes: One feels prickling sensation when one works on any digital screen for long without any breaks.

Your eyes are precious. It helps you see the colors, rainbow, butterfly, and even that hot girl in your neighborhood; hence keep it safe!
