Boosting up your metabolism is a good idea for anytime of year. Boosting that metabolic rate means that you’ll have more energy throughout the day, and will have less trouble losing any holiday weight you may build up. It’s also not that difficult to boost your metabolism. Really it’ll just take some effort on your part to incorporate a few tips into your everyday lifestyle.
-Make sure that you get your sleep. Part of boosting your metabolism is making sure that your body functions effectively, that means getting enough sleep. Make sure that you get the recommended 7-8 hours every night. Your body will reward your efforts by helping you feel more rested and relaxed throughout the day.
-Don’t skip meals, which is a mistake many people make. Skipping a meal to make up for a larger one, or to trim a few easy calories to lose weight is bad. You have to keep your system churning all day to boost your metabolism, so you have to keep the calories coming. Just ration the calories, so that your body processes a smaller amount more often throughout the day. Smaller meals, and more of them, works better than a few larger meals or skipping meals.
-Drink plenty of water. This is essentially the same concept as food. The more water you drink throughout the day, the more your body circulates, and keeps running liquid through your system. That will keep your metabolism moving to accommodate the water.
-Try to stay away from sugary foods, as sugar is proven to slow down metabolism and encourage fat storage within your body. Both of which are the opposite direction from where you want to be moving.
-Exercise. Exercise is the best way to boost your metabolism as it helps you build muscle mass. More muscles means you’ll burn more calories, as muscle requires more calories than fat to survive.

I have covered quite many time management tips in Daily Time Management Tips series. Some of them are easy to apply while others are not so easy to follow. Do not lose you sleep over it, just follow the ones that you comfortably can and leave the rest for the time being. There will be time for them as well. I will leave this discussion here and will move forward to share today’s time management tips.
Time Bomb
I prefer to call it this because when the decisive moment will come everything has to stop. Confused? Well, there is no need to be because I am talking here about a time-based game. We learn endurance, patience, strategy, virtue of perseverance among many other things from various games that we play. Now, we will also learn time management.
Play a time management game. Divide your team in groups and get a big stopwatch. Assign each group its task and then allocate time for the task. Place the stopwatch at a place where everyone can easily see. Now it is time to press the button and set the stopwatch ticking.
Reward the group that finishes the work early, and ask the group to share what strategy they used to finish the work so quickly. This way everyone in your team will know how to manage time. Repeat this task often and see the difference.
Learn to manage time
If things are not working the way you wanted it to work for you, not even after applying the tips I have shared here then considering taking a small course on time management. It will be worthwhile, but do not rush for a course until and unless you have tried all these tips for at least a month without any result. If you get even a glimpse of the result at the end of the month then you are on the right track. You do not need any time management course.
No meetings please
A meeting is a time sucker. It is a corporate way to waste time. Do not indulge in it. If the work can be done without doing any meeting than do it, your goal is not to touch “attended 100000 meetings” mark, but your goal is to do the work assigned to you and your team. If meeting is unavoidable then set an agenda beforehand and stick to it. Do not discuss sports in the meeting.

This is the fifth installment of Daily Time Management Tips series, and in this part we will see how a slight change in our life style helps us manage our time better.
Get a good night sleep
Make a habit of going to bed on the scheduled time every day, and have at least 6-7 hours of good sleep. This will keep you fresh and help you focus more.
Exercise regularly
Staying fit is very important, even from the time management point of view. When you are healthy and fit, you tend to be more productive. Do not ignore your exercise. It is very important for your health. Along with other things, exercise also improves your focus and helps you concentrate more.
Meditate
Mediation is a nice way for you to relieve yourself from unnecessary worries. This will rejuvenate your senses, and help you relax. And do I need to emphasize on the importance of a calm mind in getting things done on time?
Prepare for the next day
You have to reach your office at 8:30 and you leave your bed at 8. Will you ever reach there on time? Very unlikely, and even if you somehow manage to reach there at times, you will not be at ease. Did I tell you about forgetting lunch box and files at home? Always make it a habit to prepare your stuff for the next day before you go to bed today.
