The way we lead or live our life has changed a lot. Now we do lots of things differently than what we did in the past. We talk differently, we commute differently, we eat differently then why our work out plan is all the same? Here are 65 quick tips that will help you adopt the workout plans that reflect how your life has changed.
- Walk when you talk. This is a famous commercial on Indian television run by a mobile phone provider. You should consider walking whenever you talk on phone. Do not sit on your seat and talk. Just walk while you talk and see the difference.
- No Elevator pitches please. Well, I am not against the pitches entrepreneur gives or prepares to give in an elevator, as it has no effect on your overall health; on wealth, it indeed has a proven effect, but we are talking “health” here. Use stairs to climb to your office. This will not only keep your legs toned, but it will help you lose weight as well. And did I say, do it every time you go up and down? I didn’t but do not use elevator or escalator ever.
- Use non-violence and do not fight for that parking space. I believe in non-violence, but this post is not about political or social thought, so what I meant was nothing to do with Gandhian non-violence. I asked you, rather in a fancy way, to take the farthest spot in parking space, so that you get time to walk. Now, do not start fighting over the furthest parking spot, as we do for the most nearest spot.
- Write it down. Obviously, not a love letter, but the details of workout that you do, and food that you eat. Review your diary in the morning, right after reading the newspaper. This will keep you on course.
Go green. Well, the world is indeed heating up, but it has nothing to do with your increasing waistline. Well, not directly, at least. Go green means, go and buy green tea. It helps in increasing the metabolism, and do I need to say this: do not drink soda or any carbonated drink?

This is the fourth installment of weight-loss tips from the kitchen series, where as usual, I will share ten more useful weight-loss tips. We are reaching towards the end of the series; this is second last post in the weight-loss tips from kitchen series. I hope, you have been following the tips I shared in the last three articles, if not, this is high time to do it boss. Just do it!
- Have you washed your car recently? Do it now, and wait, do not use hosepipe and water pressure to do wash your car. Use sponge, bucket, car wash, and most importantly your hands to do that.
- Skipping meals? Do not kid me! You are not going to get slim by skipping meals; rather your blood sugar will become unstable, if you do so. Eating regular meals will save the effort wasted in binging.
- Chocolates are BAD! Say NO to chocolates.
- White rice hurts, get some brown rice.
- Walk a hundred miles. I mean everyday keep on adding to the steps you take while walking. You should add at least 1000 steps twice a week. You can use pedometer to log the details.
- Did you sleep properly last night? A good sleep is as important for metabolism as is a balanced diet.
- Make a small list of reasons why you want to lose weight and keep it handy. Read it to yourself, whenever you feel like having food, and see if the food fits in.
- A small walk can take you miles. Park your car at the furthest cornet. Take stairs. Walk your dog.
- Use salad plate to dine. Sound crazy? It is, and you cannot get slim by doing regular stuff. Eating in salad plate will give you false sensation of eating more.
- Use Spice. It will boost your metabolism.

Losing weight, or at least wanting to lose weight, is a battle that most Americans are now facing, given the ridiculously high obesity rate in this country. In most cases losing weight seems like an uphill battle, almost impossible to win, and incredibly hard to stick with on a long term basis. But there are plenty of small lifestyle changes you can make that will reap gigantic rewards in the long run, and most of them won’t be that difficult at all to comply with.
For starters, it’s not necessarily that you can’t eat the things you enjoy, but rather it’s how you eat those things that has the biggest effect on your body. Take pizza for example, going to one of the big chains like Pizza Hut, or Dominos isn’t very healthy on a regular basis, as their pizzas are full of fats, and overloaded with calories you don’t need. Rather you should try either buying a frozen pizza from your local grocery store, or even make your own pizza at home. Either option is more healthy in most cases, and both will allow you more choice in terms of finding a healthier replacement for unhealthy restaurant pizza.
Try to drink water as a replacement for something like soda, energy drinks, fruit juices high in sugar and calories, during meals. Not necessarily everyday, but maybe just every other day, that way you are still cutting calories and lowering your intake of the junk all three drinks offer by about half every year in the long run.
Beyond that, you’ll just want to make sure that you take every opportunity to walk short distances, instead of driving. Or take the stairs at work, instead of using the elevator. Little changes like those make huge differences in the long run, and you’ll be a slimmer healthier person of having made the effort.
