One of the wonders of the internet is that it has given us a chance to know so much about celebrities. We used to be content with watching their movies, waiting for their select television appearances, buying celebrity magazines. The times have changed. Now, we want to know everything about them, this is why we have people who actually stalk celebrities in their daily activities, no matter how mundane these activities are. These days, you can know everything about your favorite celebrity with a click of the mouse.
If you are a regular wanderer in cyberspace like me, you have probably heard of Perez Hilton. No, he’s not a sister of Paris Hilton. He used to be a celebrity fan, just like us, who set up a website with news and his own funny insights on the life and days of our favorite celebrities. There is no doubt that the paparazzi favorite Paris Hilton has something to do with that name. Needless to say, Perez Hilton’s website grew even more popular than Paris Hilton. With the countless celebrity fans clicking on his website, his website is growing as fast as his bank account.
Perez Hilton’s website is not the only website that has garnered an amazing following. There are other websites like TMZ, JustJared.com and Popsugar.com who also bank on the public’s insatiable appetite for celebrity news. To say that fans cannot get enough is an understatement. The minute a celebrity does something outrageous, say jump on a talk show host’s couch, it’s all over the internet in a matter of seconds. Best of all, it is all recorded and posted on the internet for everyone to see and watch, over and over again. But of course this convenience also has its downside; celebrities are literally stalked for a picture or for a comment which will be good enough to sell to a tabloid.
The best thing about celebrity blogging is that anyone who has the same appetite for gossip and a flair for writing can try it out as well. Efficient website hosts offer reasonable prices to blog amateurs who want to try out the road traveled well by Perez Hilton. It’s not such a bad idea, you can write about something you enjoy and maybe even earn from it as well! In the age of the internet, nothing is impossible. So instead of scouring the internet for your favorite celebrity websites, think of starting your own. If you have the talent and the interest, it’s definitely a great idea to try.
